Joyner Library offers an Educator Library Card to educators in eastern North Carolina. This card is available free of charge to K-12 educators working in school systems currently served by the Walter and Daisy Carson Latham Clinical Schools Network. The school systems include: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chatham, Clinton City, Craven, Cumberland, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edenton-Chowan, Edgecombe, Elizabeth City/Pasquotank, Franklin, Gates, Granville, Greene, Halifax, Harnett, Hertford, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lee, Lenoir, Martin, Nash/Rocky Mount, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Roanoke Rapids, Sampson, Tyrrell, Vance, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Weldon City, and Wilson.
The Educator Cardholder’s library privileges last for one calendar year, at which point the account must be renewed. Each year on August 15th, all Educator Library Cards will expire. Renewing also requires proof of the individual’s current employment as an educator. The status of an account can be checked by contacting Joyner Library’s Circulation Department by phone (252) 328-4176, email, or in person. We strongly recommend checking the status of an account before visiting the TRC as we cannot allow access to our resources to an expired card holder. Additionally, privileges are suspended if the user owed overdue fines, lost item fees, or fees for an item that has been damaged while on loan.
In offering the Educator Library Card, it is the goal of Joyner Library to provide area educators with free access to the materials in Joyner Library, to increase awareness of the resources and materials in Joyner Library, and to show our commitment and support to area educators. For additional information regarding the Educator Library Card or the Ann Schwarzmann Production Center contact Hazel Walker, Education Librarian and Outreach Coordinator, at email@example.com or (252) 328-4994. Professor Walker is also available to visit your school and share the many resources and services the Teaching Resources Center can offer K-12 educators in eastern North Carolina.
