The card is also available to Home schools within the network.

The Educator Library Card allows educators to check out books from Joyner Library and access the Ann Rhem Schwarzmann Production Center. Educators must possess a valid Educator Library Card prior to utilizing these services. To obtain or renew a card, please complete the Borrower Privilege Application and submit it to Joyner Library’s Circulation Department. K-12 educators must have a valid driver license (or state identification card) and provide proof of their current employment as an educator. Homeschoolers must present a valid driver license (or state identification card) and a valid Home School card authorized by the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education (DNPE). If you have registration questions, feel free to contact the Circulation department at (252) 328-4176 or circulation@ecu.edu.

All Educator Library Cards expire on July 15th. The status of an account can be checked by contacting Joyner Library’s Circulation Department by phone, (252) 328-4176, or email, circulation@ecu.edu. We strongly recommend checking the status of an account before visiting the TRC as we cannot allow access to our resources to an expired card holder. Additionally, privileges are suspended if the user owes overdue fines, lost item fees, or fees for an item that has been damaged while on loan.

In offering the Educator Library Card, it is the goal of Joyner Library to provide area educators with free access to the materials in Joyner Library, to increase awareness of the resources and materials in Joyner Library, and to show our commitment and support to area educators. For additional information regarding the Educator Library Card contact Vatoyia Gardner, Education Librarian, at gardnerv22@ecu.edu or (252) 328-4994.
