There was much to celebrate during the 2021-2022 academic year, including faculty and staff hires, a new sensory space, additional sustainable publishing options for ECU researchers, progress on several diversity and inclusion initiatives, and significant growth in open access materials provided through the library. The 2021 faculty survey results revealed the extent to which faculty value the library: 98-99% of faculty respondents are satisfied or very satisfied with our customer service, hours, building/space, and overall library services! The 4.5 ranking for overall library services in the Graduating Senior Survey showed that ECU students agree that the library is a great place to study, research, and learn.

It takes a great team focused on the mission to produce these outcomes. It is my pleasure to work with such a team at the Main Campus Library! Our success is also due to the generosity of supporters like you. Thank you for your support. We hope you enjoy this year in review and we invite you to be part of our future.

It’s kind of like a stone skipping across a pond or a lake that creates a lot of ripples. That’s what we believe the library does is it creates a lot of ripples. That helps in seeing East Carolina University and its development, growth and impact on eastern North Carolina.” - Mike Taylor
