Urban design as urban healing: architect Zena Howard

Join us on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. in ballroom C in the Main Campus Student Center for award-winning architect Zena Howard.

Zena Howard, principal at Perkins & Will in Durham, has designed spaces including the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture and Greenville’s Sycamore Hill Gateway Plaza.

Her work includes projects with specialized goals such as environmentally sensitive artifact exhibit areas, environmentally and spatially sensitive spaces for autistic children and historically and culturally significant buildings and locations.

She has been featured in national publications ranging from Forbes to Essence and beyond.

Her visit is presented in partnership with ECU’s Office for Equity and Diversity and the City of Greenville.
