In-Office Services for Faculty and Staff
Joyner Library offers three in-office services for faculty and staff who have offices on the contiguous main campus between 5th and 10th Streets.
Office Delivery
You may request library staff deliver library items to your office by using the Place Hold option in the library Catalog and then selecting Office Delivery. For details about this service and instructions for using the Place Hold option, please visit Place Hold & Faculty/Staff Departmental Office Delivery. Any fines or holds on your account must be cleared before we can provide this service. We attempt to deliver items the same or next weekday, but please allow several days for this service. If your office is not on ECU’s main campus, we can place items in campus mail to your office, if you would like.
In-Office Renewals
Library personnel can come to your office to renew items that are due to save you from having to bring them back to the library if you are not finished with them. You usually will have three unseen/remote renewals that you may request through the library catalog’s My Account tool or by phone or email. After those renewals have been used, items must be returned to the library or renewed by library staff in your office. We ask that all items to be renewed in your office be easily accessible to our staff so that we may process the renewals efficiently. Please have the library items separated from your other books and on a shelf, desk, or table for us to process promptly. If any items are on hold for another patron, we will need to return the item to Joyner Library for holds processing. Any fines or holds on your account must be cleared before we can renew items. To request this service, please complete our request form several days before your desired appointment to allow time for scheduling and please do so before items are due to avoid overdue notices and then lost billing processing.
Office Return Pick Up
Library personnel can come to your office to pick up items to be returned to the library. We ask that all items to be returned are easily accessible to our staff in your office, already separated from your other books and on a shelf, desk, or table for us to take promptly. Please ensure that the books be free of notes, paperwork, and other personal items. To request this service, please complete our request form several days before your desired pick up date to allow time for scheduling and please do so before items are due to avoid overdue notices and then lost billing processing. We ask that when emailing you include the number of items to be returned and if they are unusually large or heavy so we can provide adequate staff and transportation for the items.
