Media: Football team visits library exhibit
A special visit to the “No Quarter: History of East Carolina Football and Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium” exhibition occurred Aug. 6, featuring the current East Carolina football team and media coverage. Various local media outlets attended, along with Spectrum News 1 of central North Carolina.
Coach Mike Houston expresses his appreciation and says the exhibit “is fantastic” in this video. WITN’s coverage is available here.
More than 100 football players, coaches and staff filled the Janice Hardison Faulkner Gallery to check out different elements of the exhibit. Players especially liked the bowl and championship rings on display, helmets and watching plays from the 1970 ECU-Marshall game.
Hoistthecolors.net, a 247Sports site devoted to coverage of ECU athletics, already had featured Patrick Cash and the exhibit’s opening. On social media, Pirate Radio captured video and photos during the Aug. 6 visit, and the official ECU Football account posted about the exhibit in a post that quickly received nearly 2,000 likes.
An exhibit reception is scheduled for Sept. 7 from 4-6 p.m. on the library second floor, two days before the first home game of the season against Marshall.
