Directions and Parking

Our reading room is in the North Carolina Collection on the third floor of Joyner Library. Visit Joyner Library’s Maps and Directions page for more information on how to get to and park at the library.

Hours

Materials in the North Carolina stacks and reference collection are available when the library is open. All other Special Collections materials can only be viewed when the Special Collections service desk is open. See below for our hours.

We can retrieve most collections for you on the day of your visit, until a half-hour before we close.

Requesting Material

The Special Collections Research Room is open by appointment only and the space is limited to four researchers at a time. Each collection guide contains a link to request materials that you wish to view in person. To request materials you wish to view in person start here.
