Donate to Special Collections

Material Donations

Special Collections seeks donations of books, papers, and other published and unpublished material related to North Carolina; East Carolina University; naval, coastal and maritime studies; military history; and the Atlantic world. We also seek rare books and other published material related to exploration, travel, radical politics, and science fiction and fantasy. If you are interested in donating material, please contact us.

If we are able to accept your donation, we will ask you to sign a contract of gift stating that donated material is the property of Joyner Library. Donated materials not within our collecting scope may be housed in other East Carolina collections or deaccessioned according to the library’s collection development policies.

Monetary Donations and Endowments

Monetary donations enable us to take on projects we would otherwise be unable to complete, such as conservation of fragile items, digitization projects, outreach programs, and the processing of large collections. We encourage but do not require donors of collections material to consider helping pay for the cost of processing their collection.
