NC Collections Exhibit Highlights Ghost Stories and Legends Local to North Carolina

It’s You’re walking slowly along the shore when a warm orange glow appears out of the corner of your eye. You turn and realize it’s a ship, but something’s wrong- it’s on fire! The flames dance high in the air, beckoning you forth. The brightness of the ship is a stark contrast against the inky dark of the night. You feel your heart sink into your stomach as the ship inches closer and then vanishes- disappears as if it were never there to begin with and now you stand distraught, unable to believe what you’ve just seen.

If you enjoy spine-chilling tales of eerie ghost ships and apparitional tragedy, please come check out the new North Carolina Collection exhibit titled, “Haunted: North Carolina Ghosts.” It’s located just outside the doors to the North Carolina Collection room on the third floor of Joyner Library and opens on October 3rd. The exhibit consists of three books which explore paranormalism in North Carolina. We hope you stop by for a scream!
