New Exhibit The Scholar and the Hobbit: A Celebration of the Literary Legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien

 

The Scholar and the Hobbit: A Celebration of the Literary Legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien exhibit on the 1st floor of Joyner Library is a snapshot of the life and career of author J.R.R. Tolkien (1892 -1973). Curated by staff member Lucas Berrini, the exhibit highlights the rich resources of the James H. and Virginia Schlobin Literature of the Fantastic Collection This exhibit brings together Tolkiens’ scholarly output as well as his more familiar works including The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

The exhibit, on display through the spring, is designed for scholars and fans alike. In addition to the main exhibit located on the first floor of Joyner Library, there is also an exhibit highlighting items from the general collection located between the circulation desk and Starbucks on the first floor.
