High School Track Meet

Description:

The first annual track meet of the Eastern Division of Public High Schools was held at the East Carolina Teachers Training School on April 17, 1914. This meet proved a great success. The track meet in the afternoon, in which only boys took part, showed excellent work. The recitations by the girls and the declamations by the boys in the evening were also creditable. This was the beginning of a movement in East Carolina which promised much for the High Schools.
