18th SOAD exhibit celebrates grad students
An annual exhibit celebrating artwork from ECU’s School of Art and Design is on display in the Janice Hardison Faulkner Gallery, on the second floor of Joyner Library, into mid-December.
This is the 18th annual School of Art and Design Graduate Student Art Exhibition. The artists reception and awards ceremony was Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. in the Faulkner Gallery, featuring the following awards:
- Friends of Joyner Library Purchase Award: Chaos #2, by Paul Edwards. Cotton weaving.
- School of Art and Design Award: The Man Nodding Yes, Yes, by Heather Fraccalvieri. Oil on canvas.
- School of Art and Design Director’s Award: Process 1, by Tansy O’Bryant. Ceramic.
- College of Fine Arts and Communication Dean’s Merit Award: Heart Strings, by Stacy Rodgers. Oxidized Copper.
The 16 participating artists are: Liam Aley, Mavis Bullard, Katelyn Davis, Paul Edwards, Denton Fae, Heather Fraccalvieri, Sam Gorritz, Morgan Hesse, Austin Irby, Rachael Lowman, Tansy O’Bryant, Stacy Rodgers, Narges Sedaghat, Autumn Standbridge, Ava Starnes and Savannah Willis.
The School of Art and Design is part of ECU’s College of Fine Arts and Communication. Works include textile designs, ceramics, oil, oxidized copper, photography, cotton weaving, cloisonne and laser cutting.
